As we always do, we take a peek at the upcoming NFL season and what we can expect to happen in the upcoming season. This year, the Seattle Seahawks’ quarterback Russell Wilson is having a career year and is on pace to break Peyton Manning’s record for most touchdown passes in a season. If the Seahawks get the rest of the way that they need, they will be in great position to win the Super Bowl.
I’m not here to pick on Russell Wilson. He’ll have plenty of chances to prove me wrong over the course of the year. But so far, he’s been pretty impressive.
As we watch Russell Wilson and the Seattle Seahawks prepare for this weekend’s matchup against the Denver Broncos, Wilson’s personal achievement of a fifth Super Bowl appearance seems a long way off. The Seahawks have a seemingly insurmountable 4-point fourth-quarter deficit to overcome in order to win the Lombardi Trophy for a third time in franchise history. But Wilson has a top-notch supporting cast that should allow him to overcome any deficit.
Russell Wilson is one of the finest quarterbacks in the league right now. He’s also the greatest player in the history of the Seattle Seahawks franchise. Wilson has established himself as one of the league’s most reliable quarterbacks, having never had a losing season in his nine-year career.
Wilson is a two-time Super Bowl winner who has received many honors and trophies. However, as the 2021 season approaches, the veteran Seattle starter is only a few victories away from shattering an all-time outstanding mark.
Russell Wilson is eight victories away from equaling Peyton Manning’s remarkable record.
Russell Wilson needs 8 victories to overtake Peyton Manning (105) for the most victories by a quarterback in his first ten seasons in the NFL.

Peyton Manning, who spent the first ten years of his NFL career with the Indianapolis Colts, won 105 games during that time.
Wilson has a 98-45-1 record in his first nine seasons with the Seahawks, which puts him only eight victories shy of Manning’s illustrious mark. Wilson has never won less than nine games as a starter in the NFL, which is excellent news for Wilson and Seahawks fans. In fact, Wilson has won 10 or more games in eight of his nine seasons with the Seahawks.
It’s fair to assume Wilson has a good chance of winning the remaining eight games this season.

Wilson is just 32 years old, yet he’s already had a Hall of Fame career in the NFL. He has thrown for over 33,000 yards and 267 throwing touchdowns. He’s also racked up over 4,500 yards and 22 scores on the run.
Wilson’s reputation would be cemented even further if he could break Manning’s 10-year victory streak.
Wilson is also on pace to join Manning as the only quarterback in NFL history to throw for at least 3,000 yards and 20 passing touchdowns in each of their first ten seasons. Wilson should be able to hit those statistics after throwing for over 4,000 yards and 40 touchdowns in 2020.
Wilson’s presence in the discussion with Manning, in any case, says volumes about how terrific he’s been. Wilson has never won a league MVP award and is often ignored in comparison to other top quarterbacks. Since joining the NFL, he’s been clearly one of the greatest.
In Seattle, the pressure is starting to build.
While Wilson is on the verge of making NFL history, the Seahawks are seeing some backlash from their fans.
Since 2013, the club hasn’t won a Super Bowl and hasn’t played in one since 2014. It’s a high bar to set for a team, but when you have a quarterback like Wilson, you’re expected to win on a regular basis.
In 2020, Seattle got out to a fast start before faltering at the finish line. This resulted in an early playoff departure, prompting many to criticize Pete Carroll’s leadership.
Even if Wilson equals Manning’s record, Seattle may be in for another difficult season in 2021.
