Joel Embiid, one of the most talented basketball players in recent memory, is out for at least six weeks. The 76ers therefore need to proceed cautiously as they adjust their lineup and approach during his absence.
The “joel embiid knee injury” is a concern for 76ers fans. Joel Embiid has been dealing with a sore left knee, but he needs to proceed cautiously.
The Philadelphia 76ers have already played four regular-season games and have a 2-2 record. There’s a lot to take from from their performance so far, but one theme that’s gaining traction is the team’s franchise cornerstone.
Joel Embiid has entered 2021 motivated to lead the Sixers to an NBA championship after a tremendous season that nearly earned him the MVP award. Since joining the franchise in 2014, the All-Star center has talked often about delivering a championship to Philadelphia.
It’s important to remember that winning an NBA championship is a marathon, not a sprint. Every choice must be taken with the long term in mind, even in the early days of the regular season.
Joel Embiid has been plagued by injuries throughout his career, and it has raised its ugly head once again. Embiid has battled knee discomfort since colliding with Pelicans center Jonas Valanciunas in the season opener.
Despite his suffering, Embiid has continued to support his team on the field. He’s still able to play at a high level on occasion, but it was evident in the Sixers’ game against the Knicks that the big man isn’t fully recovered. Not only did his body language look off, but he also shot just 2-7 from the field throughout the game.
Embiid may be in more agony than he is letting on, according to ESPN’s Ramona Shelburne, who spoke on NBA Today Wednesday afternoon.

Embiid should be commended for not wanting to abandon his teammates, but there’s a risk it’s causing more damage than good. If he continues to test his boundaries early in the season, he may not be 100 percent when his elite-level abilities are most required, in the playoffs.
Embiid may want to stay on the field for a variety of reasons. The most notable is Ben Simmons, who has yet to play in a game with the squad. With one All-Star sitting on the bench, Embiid may feel forced to remain on the court to help bear the weight.
Accolades and honors might also play a role in his selection. If it weren’t for the games he missed, Embiid would have been the league’s MVP last season. Falling barely short of such a feat due to missing games must have lingered in the back of his mind.
Nothing will stop him from getting recognized for his superstar qualities if he can gather the strength to play a large number of games. Not to mention putting an end to the notion that he is an injury-prone superstar.
In this position, the 76ers are caught between a rock and a hard place, but they must play the long game. Embiid’s ability to persevere in the early weeks of the season might have a significant impact on their chances of finishing last in the playoffs. They’ll need Embiid to be at 100 percent if they want to compete for a championship.
Daryl Morey has done an excellent job of assembling a talented squad for the Sixers. Even without Embiid, the club as a whole is capable of competing with opponents on any given night.
The 76ers must use caution while dealing with their superstar center, regardless of the severity of the ailment on a day-to-day basis.
The “sixers draft grade” is a part of the 76ers, Joel Embiid need to proceed cautiously amid knee injury. The 76ers are trying to figure out how to move past the injury without jeopardizing their future.
